Getting Pregnant

Trying to get pregnant is supposed to be a naturally easy process, at least, that is what we have been taught.

But, if you have been working to get pregnant for the past few months or even up to a year, you may have come to realize, that everything we were taught when we were young about getting pregnant easily, is not true for everyone. The fact is, women only have a twenty to thirty percent chances of getting pregnant each month. Most people that consistently work at conceiving will conceive within a year but a small percentage will still not conceive after a year or more of consistently trying.

Stress can have an impact, when trying to get pregnant, on a couple’s fertility but it is more likely that stress is the cause not the result of infertility. Many couples can conceive within a year of trying. For those couples who have not conceive within a year of trying there could be a physical problem. A large percentage of all infertility can be identified as a physical problem, so you will want to be evaluated by your doctor if you have not been able to conceive in over a year. What about that friend that said “I know a couple that adopted then later got pregnant?” This could be true and is not unheard of but the pregnancy may have happened because of a simple diet change due to a new baby in the house and lowered stress levels. Statistics do not show any improvement in fertility, the percentage of women getting pregnant after adopting is about 5 percent, which is the same as women who have infertility problems and do not adopt.
